　　5月22日，我校共有37名优秀学子踊跃地参加了第19届“21世纪杯”全国英语演讲比赛宁波地区复选。同学们凭借卓越的英语优势和演讲才华，取得了可喜的复选成绩。复选一等奖共3名，二等奖7名，三等奖 27名。其中，来自PYP项目的张安好和MYP项目的徐若菡同学成功晋级浙江省半决赛。

　　在7月份杭州举行的浙江省决赛中，宁波华茂国际学校张安好和徐若菡同学分别斩获了小学低年级组和初中组总决选一等奖！她们凭借扎实的语言功底、睿智机敏的现场问答、沉着稳健的舞台风范，展现了我校学子优秀的英语水平和良好的精神风貌！

　　经过已备演讲、现场问答、即席演讲这三个环节的重重考验和激烈竞争，两位同学从浙江省半决选中脱颖而出，成功晋级到浙江省总决选，并最终荣获总决选一等奖的优异成绩！

　　“21世纪杯”全国英语演讲比赛于1996年创办，已拥有25年历史。每年吸引数百万学生报名参加，得到了社会各界以及全国师生的大力支持。该赛事的举办不仅激发了广大学子的青春正能量，提高了中国青少年的跨文化交流能力，拓宽了学子们的全球视野、增进了友谊；同时，在校内营造了良好的英语学习氛围，为广大青少年学子搭建了用英语展现自我、传播中国声音的舞台，让热爱英语、热爱思辨、热爱演讲、热爱和平的中国青少年走向世界舞台，让世界倾听中国声音。

　　On May 22nd, 37 students of our school enthusiastically participated in the 19th China Daily "21st Century Cup" National English Speaking Competition in Regional Final (Ningbo). With their excellent English advantage and speech skills, the students won excellent results with 3 first prizes, 7 second prizes and 27 third prizes. Among them, Elsa Zhang from PYP and Amy Xu from MYP were successfully prompted to the Regional Semi-Final (Zhejiang).

　　In the Regional Final (Zhejiang) of the 19th “21st Century Cup” English Speaking Competition held in July in Hangzhou, Elsa Zhang and Amy Xu both won the first prize! With their solid language skills, intelligent on-site Q&A, and calm stage demeanor, Elsa and Amy showed excellent English proficiency and good spirits of NBHIS! After three stages of prepared speech, on-site Q&A and impromptu speech, they stood out from the Regional Semi-Final (Zhejiang), and were successfully promoted to the Zhejiang Final, and finally won the first prize!

　　“The 21st Century Cup” National English Speaking Competition was founded in 1996 with a history of 25 years. Every year, it attracts millions of students to sign up for the event, and has received strong support from teachers and students from all over China. The competition has not only stimulated the positive energy of students, improved their intercultural communication ability of the Chinese youth, but also broadened students’ global vision and developed their friendship. Meanwhile, it helps create a good English learning atmosphere in schools. It sets up a stage for the majority of Chinese youth to show themselves in English and spread the voice of China, so that helps Chinese youth who love English, love thinking, love speech, love peace go to the world stage and let the world listen to the voice of China.
